I've been with parkside vets for over 20 years and always really good with my animals. My last cat vet checked him over but gut feeling knew it ws his time. She sad after checking him we can do tests but he isnt very well but it's up to you. I knew by my gut and what he was telling me it was time. She said it would be best. Heard alot of not very good stories about parksode but always said no I've always thought they are very good and honest. Eventually got another cat but again I knew by my gut and what he was showing me knew it was time. Went to vet the vet didn't even check him over just looked at him said he isn't very well said we will need to take him in to do blood tests which I thought odd as it clear its his time and my gut feeling which vet would know by the look of him and telling her what he was doing. I did take videos minute he started being ill as my cousin lives in Glasgow she is a vets nurse high sent her and she said it is his time he showing the signs. Hurtful but knew in my gut anyway. I did record the vet appointment as just has feeling I had too and send to my cousin.She said bloods be this much which I kept saying I don't have the money and it was very clear my old cat was at his last. She ignored what I kept saying by don't have the money and cat didn't need to be put through that when he was at his last stage. I came away called my cousin she said he doesn't need to be taken in at all for bloods, his symptoms and signs are all there. But I should have listened to my gut and what he was showing me.4 days he lasted and had to be put down bill over 400 pound.So the stories I have heard are actually true some nice but alot I keep hearing the same and now it has happened to me and My cat. There is the same pattern happening alot over and over. One ok but multiple the same is clearly a sign of not dedicated vets but get as much money out of you and not listen. Was no need to take bloods from him at all and put him through that what so ever. My cousin showen the videos and the recording of the visit I had to her vet said exact same he didn't need to get bloods done she should have said its his time it was very clear minute I took him in and totally ignore his signs and what I was saying.I'm appalled totally as really thought they weren't actually like that after being with them for many years. This place has change totally not the same as before at all. I will never go back to this place again and my cousin and her vet said if I get another animal don't go back to this place. And I won't. Please listen to your animal and your gut as vet would have known in the first instance of this. Apauled and very disappointed in the poor service which I never thought for a minute after standing up for this place this would actually happen to me. The stories are the same pattern. We needed emergency help in the middle of a night. Our only Perth vets that provide this kind of service refused help ,yet Parkside vets were happy to help without even a second of doubt 👌

When Gizmo our pug became ill, the team at Parkside Veterinary in Dundee were fantastic. We felt well informed at every step and the vets made time for quick post-surgery follow-ups despite an already busy schedule. You can tell they really care about their work and we highly recommend them.

These people absolutely disgust me. They are obviously only in business to make money and take advantage of people who love their pets. Since when was it ok to charge people hundreds of pounds to spend a few minutes looking at your pet. I know people who have paid thousands recently for things that aren't necessary at all. They should be ashamed.

Really expensive vets right here, don't offer long term customers payment plans, I'm currently looking around for a vet for my cats that does payment plans.. they quoted me almost 2000£ for my cats dental work, I asked for a payment plan,, we don't do that. That was her answer. Been there for 9 years this will be my last.

My dog Misty was referred to Julia Henken by my own vet at Blackness Vets. I could not be more happy with the service I received from Julia. She clearly knows her stuff and was well equipped and thorough. Julia had a lovely manner with Misty, who is not the best patient….Julia made the diagnosis without the need to come back for further tests and prescribed treatment which worked first time. Julia wrote down the diagnosis and treatment plan and also made a plan for what to do if the problem should recur. I would highly recommend Julia on the basis of my experience.

Staff are great, really helpful answered all our questions about our new pup and we had lots.Update: our "new pup" is now 7 going on 8 and we still use this vet for everything. The have fixed up a paw that was cut on glass at a beach, acted fast when we thought our boy had come in to contact with blue green algae, and provided countless years of great quality service. We love this place

Incompetent.Cost me £950 for them to tell me my cat had cancer.I told them the symtoms and problems but they insisted on doing a load of test before the one that would have highlighted the Tumour.They know what there doing squeezing as much cash out of you on multiple consultations when it could be resolved in a single visit.Money first Animal care 2nd.

I went to this vet for several years with my rats - moved away a few years ago and still think about how great Laura M was with my rats! Really a great place to go if you have small animals and want a vet who will understand they are as important as more traditional pets, fantastic care and at the time I went unreasonably good prices too.

Ive taken my gerbil down twice now for teeth and nail trims with vet Hazel. She has been fantastic and has done a great job with him. The waiting area is large, reception staff are super friendly when ive needed to book appointments and in person and i haven't had to wait long to be seen. Would highly recommend this practice.

I have been to Parkside a couple of times in the past and have always found them to be excellent.Very recently I had an emergency with my sugar glider Gizmo. I called to see if they could help, Melissa on reception (who was lovely) got straight on the case and after speaking to the vets, told me to bring him straight in.Andrew and Amy went above and beyond to help my poor boy and thanks to their quick actions prevented any further damage and saved his life.Cant thank them enough for the excellent care. Highly recommend 👌

Our cat appeared to have something stuck in his throat so I phoned the Barnhill branch. The receptionist said they had no slots free till later in the evening but phoned the Kings Cross branch for me. Headed up there, a very capable and reassuring vet thought maybe our cat had damaged his throat with something, rather than had something lodged in it. Anti-inflammatory injected, sent home to recover. Good call, our buddy seems to be well on the road to recovery. Thanks to all staff.

Dog had an ear infection. 1 "guess" set of ear drops that didn't work (charged for) then took a swab to test and get the correct ones (charged for) then scheduled a check to see if they were working (charged for) then wanted another appointment to make sure they worked.Asked for a written script to get more was told they would phone the next day when it was ready. I phoned them back 5 days later to be told the drops were sitting waiting to be collected. And that i must be mistaken "if id asked for a written script thats what i wouldve got" By that time I'd ran out and needed them. They charge £24.99 for a script which is £13 more than my last vet. I've lost all confidence in them.

They might be good at taking care of pets but they are the absolute worst at appointment management. Be prepared to have to wait at LEAST 20 minutes later than your appointment time. Couple that with people turning up late & still getting seen before you. If they spent less time talking about their weekend plans in the back (where we can all hear by the way) & more time on actually dealing with what they’re meant to be doing then it probably would be a great vets.I turned up this morning to drop my dog off for surgery at 8.30. I was still there at 8.55 & had to leave to take kids to school. This is not an isolated incident. I was in last Friday & waited half hr over my appointment time before I got seen.No way to run a business.

As a previous customer of the PDSA. Parkside take over Thier night shift care . My dog was at deaths door after blood poisoning n these guys went above n beyond helping Lexi back to life I was made aware that she mite not make it . But I thank the staff at parkside . Considering they didn't get money for this .brilliant staff great care

Parkside is amazing. They are so friendly and really helpful especially through the pandemic. Unfortunately we lost our dog and they made everything so smooth and really cared for him until the end. They even sent a nice card afterwards. Thoroughly recommended.

My wee man has been in there care since Wednesday AM so 3 days now- outstanding is an understatement they’re so caring towards your individual animal they make them feel certainly at home even when going through such an illness like my dog. They have and continue to keep me updated thoroughly throughout the day and always tell you the complete truth good or bad❤️ brilliant people all of you! I took my dog max here as he had been scratching a bit , I saw a ginger haired vet , who I can only describe as very rude and abrupt, he asked ,when was the last time this dog was given a bath? I said last summer, hes not great when it comes to grooming and bathing , was made to feel like I neglect my dog , I have used parkside for many years in the past when the great vet Ian Hunter was there , when I had my horses, but certainly will be changing vets

Really friendly staff, and separate waiting areas for cats and dogs. The vet was gentle and thorough and answered all my questions. She seemed to genuinely care for my cats wellbeing. I was given a lot of leaflets and information to take away, as well as a "kitten pack" which contained 2 different sorts of food (both wet and dry), plus a worming treatment to do at home. My cat wasn't too happy, but I was!

Unfortunately we were having our pet put to sleep, the whole process was handled very sensitively with thoughtful little extras that made the whole experience feel easier, we even received a lovely card with some seeds to scatter.

I remember having to put my cat down here and I know it was during covid but I felt very very rushed to get it all over and done with. We had to wait outside in the cold and rain until they called us is. I barely even got 5 mins with my poor baby before he was away. I did take him away myself and I got him cremated privately up in a place in Arbroath. I’d rather do it myself knowing my old friend will get the last piece of dignity that he deserved! Never ever again will I step near here.

I went to this vet for several years with my rats - moved away a few years ago and still think about how great Laura M was with my rats! Really a great place to go if you have small animals and want a vet who will understand they are as important as more traditional pets, fantastic care and at the time I went unreasonably good prices too.

Ive taken my gerbil down twice now for teeth and nail trims with vet Hazel. She has been fantastic and has done a great job with him. The waiting area is large, reception staff are super friendly when ive needed to book appointments and in person and i haven't had to wait long to be seen. Would highly recommend this practice.

I have been to Parkside a couple of times in the past and have always found them to be excellent.Very recently I had an emergency with my sugar glider Gizmo. I called to see if they could help, Melissa on reception (who was lovely) got straight on the case and after speaking to the vets, told me to bring him straight in.Andrew and Amy went above and beyond to help my poor boy and thanks to their quick actions prevented any further damage and saved his life.Cant thank them enough for the excellent care. Highly recommend 👌

Our cat appeared to have something stuck in his throat so I phoned the Barnhill branch. The receptionist said they had no slots free till later in the evening but phoned the Kings Cross branch for me. Headed up there, a very capable and reassuring vet thought maybe our cat had damaged his throat with something, rather than had something lodged in it. Anti-inflammatory injected, sent home to recover. Good call, our buddy seems to be well on the road to recovery. Thanks to all staff.

Dog had an ear infection. 1 "guess" set of ear drops that didn't work (charged for) then took a swab to test and get the correct ones (charged for) then scheduled a check to see if they were working (charged for) then wanted another appointment to make sure they worked.Asked for a written script to get more was told they would phone the next day when it was ready. I phoned them back 5 days later to be told the drops were sitting waiting to be collected. And that i must be mistaken "if id asked for a written script thats what i wouldve got" By that time I'd ran out and needed them. They charge £24.99 for a script which is £13 more than my last vet. I've lost all confidence in them.

They might be good at taking care of pets but they are the absolute worst at appointment management. Be prepared to have to wait at LEAST 20 minutes later than your appointment time. Couple that with people turning up late & still getting seen before you. If they spent less time talking about their weekend plans in the back (where we can all hear by the way) & more time on actually dealing with what they’re meant to be doing then it probably would be a great vets.I turned up this morning to drop my dog off for surgery at 8.30. I was still there at 8.55 & had to leave to take kids to school. This is not an isolated incident. I was in last Friday & waited half hr over my appointment time before I got seen.No way to run a business.

As a previous customer of the PDSA. Parkside take over Thier night shift care . My dog was at deaths door after blood poisoning n these guys went above n beyond helping Lexi back to life I was made aware that she mite not make it . But I thank the staff at parkside . Considering they didn't get money for this .brilliant staff great care

Parkside is amazing. They are so friendly and really helpful especially through the pandemic. Unfortunately we lost our dog and they made everything so smooth and really cared for him until the end. They even sent a nice card afterwards. Thoroughly recommended.

My wee man has been in there care since Wednesday AM so 3 days now- outstanding is an understatement they’re so caring towards your individual animal they make them feel certainly at home even when going through such an illness like my dog. They have and continue to keep me updated thoroughly throughout the day and always tell you the complete truth good or bad❤️ brilliant people all of you! I took my dog max here as he had been scratching a bit , I saw a ginger haired vet , who I can only describe as very rude and abrupt, he asked ,when was the last time this dog was given a bath? I said last summer, hes not great when it comes to grooming and bathing , was made to feel like I neglect my dog , I have used parkside for many years in the past when the great vet Ian Hunter was there , when I had my horses, but certainly will be changing vets

Really friendly staff, and separate waiting areas for cats and dogs. The vet was gentle and thorough and answered all my questions. She seemed to genuinely care for my cats wellbeing. I was given a lot of leaflets and information to take away, as well as a "kitten pack" which contained 2 different sorts of food (both wet and dry), plus a worming treatment to do at home. My cat wasn't too happy, but I was!

What a lovely vets, warm friendly and professional from the first call and throughout. Unfortunately we were having our pet put to sleep, the whole process was handled very sensitively with thoughtful little extras that made the whole experience feel easier, we even received a lovely card with some seeds to scatter.

I remember having to put my cat down here and I know it was during covid but I felt very very rushed to get it all over and done with. We had to wait outside in the cold and rain until they called us is. I barely even got 5 mins with my poor baby before he was away. I did take him away myself and I got him cremated privately up in a place in Arbroath. I’d rather do it myself knowing my old friend will get the last piece of dignity that he deserved! Never ever again will I step near here.

About Parkside Vets
Dundee Equine Vet
The purpose-built King’s Cross Road Surgery has been open since 2005. The Dundee surgery provides on-site parking, turning area, stables/stocks and a secure compound for lameness workups. The Ladybank surgery also benefits from stabling facilities, stocks and paddocks. Both surgeries have access to a diagnostic suite with digital X-ray, ultrasound and AI facilities. The Dundee branch also has a video endoscope, which can be useful for investigation of respiratory diseases and guttural pouch conditions. Construction of a large extension is currently underway at the Dundee branch which will improve facilities still further.
The Dundee surgery is located just off the Kingsway, along from the B&Q Warehouse at 5 Kings Cross Road. This is our main branch and the location of our equine office and medicines dispensary.
The Ladybank surgery is accessible on the Cupar road going into Ladybank, just off the A92. The address is:
