High percentage of horse owners taking risks and not vaccinating their horses.
A high percentage of horse owners are taking risks and not vaccinating their horses, especially with the downturn in the economy. This risks picking up equine flu and worse of all, expose these horses to tetanus, still a deadly disease for horses. It is the small puncture wounds that you miss, which introduce the tetanus bug and not the big obvious wounds which can happen. Treating this after the event just does not work. Tetanus only needs a vaccination every 3 years - well worth doing, even if you can't afford annual flu vaccinations, though if your horse picks up equine flu then the vet bill would be much higher than 3 years of vaccines!
